Michelin to showcase Remix 2, a new solution that extends tyre life with a second retread, helping fleets maximise mileage and reduce costs.
Michelin is giving its latest trailer tyre, the 385/65 R22.5 X Multi T2, its UK show debut on stand D60 at this year’s RTX Scotland in Glasgow.
The manufacturer will also be showcasing its innovative Remix 2 process, an extension to its ‘multi-life’ tyre policy that opens the door to a second retread and additional regrooving, potentially extending each tyre’s life by up to 375%.1
“We’re excited to be giving the X Multi T2 its UK debut at RTX Scotland. Enhancing our popular X Multi range, it’s another asset that can help hauliers go further for less as part of a well-managed tyre policy.
“The opportunity to showcase our Remix 2 offer, which can significantly boost the longevity of each tyre and reduce the total cost of ownership, underlines our commitment to maximising value.”
MICHELIN X Multi T2
The MICHELIN X Multi T2 has the potential to deliver greater value to operators: with the new tyre able to achieve 15 per cent higher mileage and six per cent lower rolling resistance than its predecessor.
The versatile ‘multi-life’ trailer tyre is designed for regional transport and mixed transport profiles. It can handle heavy loads and withstand lateral forces during manoeuvring, while remaining robust across varying operating conditions.
Under the EU tyre labelling scheme, the MICHELIN X Multi T2 achieves rolling resistance class B, wet grip class C and external rolling noise class A. The tyre bears the 3PMSF and M+S markings for winter suitability – making it a strong all-rounder for applications where hauliers must have full trust in the rubber on their wheels.
Michelin’s multi-life strategy evolves
Remix 2 is currently being tested with selected Michelin customers. Building on Michelin’s proven retreading process, it gives eligible tyres extended life at the company’s specialist remanufacturing facility in Stoke, helping fleets get more value and mileage from every tyre.
The addition of a second premium retread, in combination with regrooving the worn tyre up to three times during its service life, boosts the safe, maximum distance of each ‘multi-life’ fitment by up to 375% (where a single-life Michelin tyre represents 100%)1.
RTX Scotland takes place between the 18 and 19 November at the SEC in Glasgow.
Notes:
[1] Mileage performance 375% = 100% new tyre + 25% regrooving + up to 100% retreading + 25% regrooving + up to 100% retreading + 25% regrooving.
