Putting the spotlight on its advances in motorsport, Michelin is taking another step towards a more sustainable future by introducing a new ultra-high performance racing tyre that contains an unprecedented 53% sustainable materials – a higher percentage of bio-sourced or recycled raw materials than ever before with no detriment to performance.
Alongside the UK debut of the 53% tyre, it will be displaying the ultra-high-performance MICHELIN Pilot Sport CUP 2 R, which provides extreme lateral dry grip and driving precision for powerful sports and hyper cars.
With technology and cutting-edge innovation at the forefront of this year’s show, reflecting the surge in popularity of electric cars and other combustion engine alternatives, Michelin has also partnered with the Festival of Speed for its EV Test Drive experience at the historic Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit on Friday 24th June.
Showcasing its extensive EV tyre technology during the EV Test Drives, the brand will demonstrate its MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV tyres. Introducing several new technologies to increase efficiency and optimise the handling characteristics of electric cars, the tyres include its GreenPower compound on the shoulders which reduces energy consumption for a longer range.
Focussing on its EV tyre technology and the measures it is taking to boost sustainability, Michelin will also be highlighting its goal to produce its tyres from 40% bio sourced or recycled materials this decade; a figure that will rise to 100% by 2050.
Celebrating the most spectacular vehicles on show, several special guests are set to determine the Michelin Supercar Paddock Showstopper on the Saturday of the event – a hotly contested badge of honour for the most exciting car in attendance.
