Michelin fundraising for The Donna Louise tops £75,000

A year of fundraising by Michelin, Stoke, has raised a phenomenal £75,535 for the children and young people, and their families, who rely on The Donna Louise Hospice.

The Stoke site chose The Donna Louise as its charity of the year for 2018 and embarked on a year of epic fundraising. Throughout last year Michelin staff organised bake sales, climbed Mount Snowdon, donated office supplies and took part in Step Up – the Hospice’s one million steps challenge.

The year of fundraising culminated in an evening of fine dining, held in the stunning setting of the World of Wedgwood. The exclusive, five-course dinner was prepared by two Stoke-born, Michelin-starred chefs and raised an incredible £50,000.

James Alderman, head of Michelin in the UK, said: “We are thrilled with the amount we have raised for The Donna Louise, and we have had a lot of fun doing it. It is such a valuable service, and our teams have really come together to support it.”

Josh Slater, Relationship Manager at The Donna Louise, said, “We’re so grateful to Michelin for their phenomenal support over the last year. They have been amazing fundraising partners and have raised an enormous amount of money, which will make a huge difference to the local families who rely on the Hospice.

“At a time when we rely on the support of the local community more than ever, partners like Michelin are essential in helping us to raise the money we need to continue to offer our services to local families. On their behalf, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Michelin Stoke who helped to raise this huge amount of money.”
