New MICHELIN Pro 5 bicycle tyre: master the road over long distances, when training and racing
-
35% improvement in forward resistance compared to its predecessor, thanks to an optimised structure and innovative tread technology.
-
A long life acknowledged by many cyclists during the trial phase, especially ultra-distance specialists.
-
More comfortable and more versatile than its predecessor, thanks to its Tubeless Ready construction in all sizes.
The new MICHELIN Pro 5 has been designed to meet the needs of the most experienced riders, whether they are fans of long outings or road racing. With a remarkable performance in all conditions, the MICHELIN Pro 5 sets new standards.
The wheel/tyre set plays a key role in the bicycle’s dynamic behavior, transmitting the force needed for it to move. It is also the only point of contact between the bicycle and the road, which is often irregular and uneven. While the cyclist can’t change the surface on which they’re riding, they can, however, choose the tyre most suited to their needs.
The tyre that allows for riding faster
Michelin has completely redesigned its offer for road bicycle tyres, turning to advanced technologies. The result of this work is the MICHELIN Pro 5, a tyre for both training and competition, designed for long distances. Significantly more efficient than its predecessor, the MICHELIN Pro 4 Endurance, the new MICHELIN Pro 5 boasts a 35% improvement in forward resistance1. This improvement has been achieved thanks to its new Tubeless Ready design, as well as to its mix of MICHELIN Gum-X rubbers.
The tyre that provides both more comfort and more grip
By combining a new tread and widths that range from 28 to 35 mm, the MICHELIN Pro 5 has been developed to give cyclists maximum comfort, grip, and durability on both dry and wet surfaces. In fact, its internal structure allows the cyclist to reduce the inflation pressure, thus generating greater comfort when riding at all speeds.
The combination of the specific tread design and the mix of MICHELIN Gum X rubbers provides excellent wet braking, in order to offer safety and pleasure when training, in addition to racing performance2.
Long life acknowledged by ultra-distance cyclists
An essential expectation of road cyclists is to ride for a long time without having to worry about their tyres. The MICHELIN Pro 5 transforms this need into reality. Before marketing, the new Michelin tyre was validated under real conditions by all types of potential user: amateur cyclists who ride locally, ultra-distance enthusiasts, and professional racers. Consequently, the test covered over 100,000 km.
Long distance enthusiasts and fans of riding in all conditions will also appreciate the airtightness of the MICHELIN Pro 5, which allows for maintaining a constant pressure on each outing. The more constant the tyre pressure, the lower the risk of wear. In fact, scientific measurements prove that the MICHELIN Pro 5 is even more airtight than the MICHELIN Power Cup TLR3.
Compatible with many road bikes, the MICHELIN Pro 5 adds style to the frame
The MICHELIN Pro 5 is compatible with many road bikes and is offered in widths from 28 to 35 mm. It displays great versatility in use, as it is perfectly suited to all routes and all-weather conditions.
Available since January 2025, in order to enhance the appearance of the bicycle it is paired with, the new MICHELIN Pro 5 is available in two colours: black or brown wall to meet current trends.

The test was performed on the same wheel, with the same initial pressure. The results may vary under real conditions of use, depending on the road conditions, the severity of the ride, and the weather conditions.

The tests were performed at the same pressure and on the same wheel, under the same grip conditions. The results may vary under real conditions of use, depending in particular on the road conditions, the road type, and the weather conditions.
