MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV, The “master” in all season tyres for SUV

17.05.2022
  • The latest in the MICHELIN CrossClimate range that now offers a dedicated all season tyre for SUV alongside those for Car and Commercial Van

  • In testing, provides the shortest snow, wet and dry braking distances as well as leading traction on snow1

  • The leader in terms of longevity, without sacrificing safety1: performance made to last right up to the legal wear limit

The “master” in all season tyres for SUV1

In May, Michelin is launching the MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre in the UK and across Europe.

A new generation of all season tyres that combine multiple performances, the MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre allows you to contend with the majority of weather conditions, no matter the season. A 3PMSF (3 Peak Mountain Snow Flake) certified tyre, it copes with drops in temperature and occasional snowfall.

The leader for braking on snow, and on dry and wet ground, as well as for traction on snow1

The MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre benefits from a combination of cutting-edge innovations such as the MICHELIN EverGrip technologies that help optimise braking on dry, wet, or snow-covered ground.

In testing, MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV is the leading all season tyre for braking on:

  • snow2, stopping shorter by an average of 5 metres (new tyres);
  • wet ground3, stopping shorter by an average of 2 metres (tyres at the legal wear limit);
  • and dry ground3.

Compared to its competitors, it recorded a gain of almost 20% in traction5 on snow.

The MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre is homologated for winter use and consequently benefits from the 3PMSF mark.

The leader in terms of longevity, without sacrificing safety1: performance made to last right up to the legal wear limit.

Thanks to the MaxTouch Construction technology, the MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre allows for driving an additional6  3,100 miles on average, compared to premium competitor tyres, while maintaining a high level of safety, even when the tyre is at legal tread wear limit2,3,4, and regardless of the weather conditions.

As of May 1, the MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV tyre will be available in 40 dimensions from 17 to 20 inches.

[1] Balance of performance - Balance of performance proven by tests conducted in 2020 and 2021 on Dry braking, Wet braking new and worn, Snow braking new and worn, Snow traction new and worn, Longevity - see test details in legal mentions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV grabs 8 leading positions out of 8 tests. Legal wear limit or "worn" mean when worn on machine (buffed) to the depth of Tread Wear Indicator according to European regulation: ECE R30r03f.

[2] Snow braking tests - Snow braking tests, conducted by TÜV SÜD Product Service on Michelin’s request, between 50 and 0 kph, October 2021 – January 2022 (on new and on 2mm buffed), on dimension 235/60 R18 107V and 107W on Audi Q5 40TDI 204hp, Audi Q5 50TFSIe 300hp comparing MICHELIN CrossClimate2 SUV (new : 30,5m - worn : 38,4m) versus BRIDGESTONE Weather Control A005 EVO (new : 37,1 m - worn : 57,3 m) ; CONTINENTAL AllSeasonContact (new : 32,6 m - worn : 46,0 m) ; GOODYEAR Vector 4Seasons SUV Gen-3 (new : 33,9 m - worn : 45,8 m) ; PIRELLI Scorpion Verde All Season SF (new : 42,5 m - worn : 62,7 m). Extrapolation from 30-10 km/h to 50-0 km/h is based on the mean decelerations resulting from the measured braking distances achieved in the actual tests.
